Afro was created in the wake of past issues that left different races incompatible. As an organization we strive to express the importance of unity and love in this world. Our focus is dedicated to making the world a better place for us, our families and the many generations to come.
How? We believe with communication and compassion we can stand together to attack what is dividing us;
discrimination, racism, sexism and etc. We have witnessed the change that has been made by listening; therefore we will continue to listen and effectively communicate with one another. The wall of hate that divide us is being eradicated and being replaced with a bridge of love that binds us. With love in our heart we can stand as ONE~ AFRO!
Mission: We strive to foster a fun and safe environment that engages our students in discussion on issues affecting African American’s and our surrounding communities. We hope to educate our members, then challenge them to take action, whether it being internal or external. We push to display
to our community that we will take charge of our future, dismantle the negative stereotypes, build and
secure our sense of community, and influence the world.

Alpha Chi is a national honor society for the academic top 10% of juniors and seniors. Members are inducted in late spring. Current members can attend national conventions hosted throughout the United States and can apply for academic scholarships.

In 1988, Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society for freshmen was chartered at Cumberland University. Qualified students must earn membership during the freshman year with a grade point average of 3.50 or better during one or both semesters of the first year.

Alpha Phi Omega is the single most represented gender inclusive service organization in the United States. Since 1925, more than 525,000 members on over 375 campuses, continue to provide more service on more campuses than any other collegiate service organization.

It is the vision of Alpha Phi Omega to create inclusive communities for a more peaceful world in which to make a life, by developing leaders, uniting members through friendship and rendering service to all.

This statement is the North Star for everything we do. Our students, volunteers, elected leaders, professional staff and partners are asked to unite under this vision and seek ways to support its achievement.


This is essential to the longevity, impact and effectiveness of Alpha Phi Omega. Re-examining our purpose, values and how we engage future leaders and provide service. As well as examining what the future might hold for our organization and its members, is critical to continue sharing the Cardinal Principles into the next 100 years.

Alpha Phi Omega teaches through the principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service that we are architects of our own ambitions and that each of us has the opportunity to develop ourselves to be whatever we seek to be.

The motto of Alpha Psi Omega, written in ancient Greek upon their coat-of-arms, is αιτειτε ψύχην ωφελιμον or "Seek a life useful". The colors of Alpha Psi Omega are moonlight blue and bastard amber, from the names of the shades of lighting gels commonly used in theatre lighting. Its flower is the violet.

The fraternity's badge is monogram of the Greek letters ΑΨΩ. The Alpha Psi Omega coat of arms is designed to represent a Greek theater's stage. Its magazine is The Playbill.
Membership is open to students (primarily undergraduate) who are active in collegiate/university theatre at four-year institutions (full colleges and universities). Most casts/chapters use a "point system" for determining membership eligibility, with a certain number of points earned for tasks in theatre. With some chapters, there is an induction/training process, while other chapters choose members solely on merit, where the theatre experience is considered the induction process. Honorary membership may be conferred on certain individuals (usually department faculty) after obtaining permission from the National Officers.

The Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM), affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention, welcomes college students of all ages and all denominations to join us! The BCM meets Tuesdays from 11:00-1pm for free lunches and Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm for Bible study, community, and worship.The BCM also offers mission opportunities, on campus events, worship nights and much more!

The Concert Band is an ensemble which performs concert and chamber pieces from various musical periods and genres. The Concert Band is open to all qualified students, regardless of major, and scholarships are available by audition.
The Jazz Ensemble is a select ensemble which performs combo and big band jazz and related musical styles. The Jazz Ensemble is open to any student, regardless of major, with approval from the instructor.

Delta Mu Delta is a National Honor Society for students who are pursuing a bachelor or masters degree in Business Administration. Undergraduate students in the top 20% of their respective junior or senior classes, who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better, are invited into membership. Graduate students enrolled in the MBA program are also eligible if they completed at least half of the degree requirements, reside in the top 20% of their class and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better.

"GBP is a national community service honor society open to all undergraduate and graduate students who have completed at least one semester of coursework and have earned a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Invitations are sent in the Spring semester with new members inducted in late spring. Graduates are given a gold diploma seal to affix to their degree, and they are permitted to wear the gold and black graduation cords of the society.
